Introduction of Science and Technology Centre

The Science and Technology Centre have a professional R&D team consisting of senior R&D experts in nutritional products, scientific researchers and technical regulation officers. The Science and Technology Centre is mainly responsible for planning and making the Company's R&D strategies, development, registration and technology upgrade of health food and common food products, taking charge of the application and implementation of the national, provincial and municipal scientific and technological projects, developing joint R&D projects with domestic and international universities, research institutions and raw material suppliers, and providing professional support for the Company's business operation and development through the research of policies and regulations.

Scientific Advisory Committee of BYHEALTH

In order to meet the demands of the R&D strategic development of BYHEALTH, the Scientific Advisory Committee has been founded by the Science and Technology Centre, which is comprised of some of the most respected medical and nutrition experts in the field. The committee members provide tactical insight into nutrition and health trends, and offer professional opinions on BYHEALTH's major R&D decisions and guidance on technical issues to match the medium- and long-term strategic R&D goals and development plans of BYHEALTH.

Ms. Qian has been engaged in basic research in nutrition, health food R&D and registration for more than 20 years. She has rich experience in R&D and quality management of functional foods and health foods. She has been organizing and involving in law-making and amendment processes of relevant laws and regulations of health foods and functional raw materials, as well as relevant standard establishments in China. Ms. Qian and her R&D team have established more than 170 industrial standards in the field of food and health foods, and obtained more than 120 health food approval certificates. At present, she is leading BYHEALTH to initiate in full swing innovative research represented by New Function and Precision Nutrition research, sports nutrition, and foods for special medical purposes. The R&D centre she leads has established collaborations with domestic and oversea research institutions to build research and development platforms, fostering innovation and technology development in the company.

Prof. Baukje de Roos is an internationally recognised nutrition scientist. Her main expertise lies in unraveling in vivo mechanisms of bioactive food components at the level of physiology and biochemistry. Her research program assesses novel mechanisms through which dietary fatty acids and plant polyphenols affect the development of major chronic diseases. Her current Scottish Government-funded research program investigates the effects of farmed seafood on heart health and micronutrient status, applying state-of-the-art tools for self-assessment of status and health. Her expertise in the area of diet and health has formed the basis of significant contracts and consultancies with various large food companies, food levy boards, the food and drink support sector, and national UK television. She is also the CEO of the European Nutrigenomics Organization. She is a senior Editor for the journal Molecular Nutrition and Food Research, and their Guest editor for a special issue on "Nutrition and Atherosclerosis". Prof. de Roos is the theme leader of the University of Aberdeen Interdisciplinary Theme "Pathways to a Healthy Life" .

Lin Xu

Prof. Lin received her PhD degree from Division of Nutritional Science at Cornell University. She was later a Postdoctoral Research Fellow of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University. Prof. Lin became a professor, group leader and doctoral supervisor in Institute for Nutritional Sciences since she returned to China in 2003. From 2008 to 2016, Prof. Lin became the Director of Key Laboratory of Nutrition and Metabolism of Chinese Academy of Sciences. She has now established the first genome-wide association studies and multi-omics prospective cohort database of diabetes in China, and conducted series of nutritional interventions. Her research group has made significant progress in metabolic diseases associated genetic nutritional factors, multi-omics molecular biomarkers, early prediction and personalized nutritional intervention. She has published over 90 peer-reviewed scientific papers in internationally renowned journals in the field of genetics, nutrition, epidemiology, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. She was listed as the most cited scholar in China in 2014 and 2015 by Elsevier. She serves as a member of many international organizations and scientific journals. She is now a co-editor-in-chief of Nutrition and Metabolism (IF=3.25, Springer Nature).

Ye Zuguang

Professor Ye Zuguang has long been engaged in the research and development of anti-malarial drug artemisinin. He conducted research in reversing the multidrug resistance of falciparum malaria and tumors by TCM when he was a visiting scholar and collaborator of the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, University of West Virginia, the United States. His current research interests lie in the pharmacology and toxicology of TCM, and R&D of new drugs and health foods of TCM. He has undertaken more than 40 national research grants of a variety of levels. He has obtained more than 10 achievement awards of different levels. His research on antimalarial artemisinin was received Second Prize for the State Intervention Award. He has now published more than 100 peer-reviewed scientific papers in domestic and international journals, edited 15 academic books, applied for 6 patents of new drugs, and obtained several approval certificates of health foods that he developed.

Zhang Lishi

Prof. Zhang has long been engaged in research and teaching of nutrition and food safety. He has undertaken more than 30 grants of national, ministerial and provincial levels. He has won six Scientific and Technological Achievement Awards, published more than 200 peer-reviewed scientific papers in domestic and international journals. In addition, he has written, edited and co-edited more than 30 academic books. Prof. Zhang has trained more than 100 master's and doctoral students.

Zhu Huilian

Prof. Zhu has been long engaged in the study of the relationship between nutrition and chronic diseases. Her main research interest is to investigate the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis and the effect of dietary nutrition on the prevention and treatment of fatty liver. She has undertaken more than 10 scientific projects, including five projects of National Natural Science Foundation, two projects of Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province, one Science and Technology Program of Guangdong Province, one Science and Technology Program of Guangzhou City, two research grants of Chinese Nutrition Society. She has won the first-class of Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Award as a key member of the project, the first-class of Higher Education Outstanding Scientific Research Output Awards in Natural Sciences, and the Second-Class of Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award. She has currently published more than 60 peer-reviewed scientific papers in domestic and international journals during the past five years.

Cao Jianmin

Prof. Cao has been an expert in the research and development of many national sports teams, including men's soccer, women's soccer, women's handball, women's volleyball, triathlon, modern pentathlon, mountain biking, swimming, weightlifting, women's wrestling, athletics, rowing, and canoeing. He has fruitful research achievements and rich practical experience in sports training monitoring and sports nutrition. His research project "The Study of Key Technologies of Improving Athlete's Physical Skills" has won the second-class of the National Scientific and Technological Progress Award in 2010. He has undertaken two research grants of National Natural Science Foundation and Ministry of Science and Technology Research Project on the Olympic Games, and more than 30 research grants of State Sports General Administration Research Project on the Olympic Games, basic applied research, and Ministry of Science and Technology Research Projects. He has now published 264 peer-reviewed scientific papers in domestic and international journals and won many awards.
